To all our customers and supporters an update on some news from The Global Village Café:

We have now moved to our new kitchen at the Priory Upper Hall (just opposite the Castle) off Castle Hill. It has received a major refurbishment  and we are now able to offer catering events at these premises as well as continuing to cater/deliver food at Customer’s premises as before.

We have also been developing Cookery Masterclasses. The classes will be held at our new kitchen and will involve demonstrations and hands-on teaching of how to cook some of the lovely dishes from the various regions of the world represented by our Refugees. You may have seen the cookery book ‘Taste of Home’ which has been developed by the Lancashire Resettlement Refugee community and some of those dishes will be part of the series of masterclasses. All the classes will be run by members of our team, so watch this space – two of our chefs, Amina and Rima are featured in this beautiful book.

The labour of love that is ‘A Taste of Home’ is still available and would make a great Christmas present for your friends and family. You can order a copy direct from us now – please email us at [email protected]. It really is beautiful. Amina and Rima, Global Village Cafe Chefs are leading the preparation for Masterclasses (which we will be announcing soon) where you can come and learn how to cook some of these delicious dishes right here in Lancaster. We’ll keep you posted. Big heart and congratulations to everyone involved in the book x
